This half day course is for anyone who acts as a fire warden (or fire marshal) at work. It provides fire wardens with the knowledge and understanding of fire safety that they need to successfully carry out their duties.
COURSE OVERVIEW
Fire Warden at Work is divided into two interactive modules:
Module 1 – The principles of fire. Learners discover how and why fires start and how they spread through buildings. They examine the principles of fire prevention and fire protection including detection and alarm, means of escape, means for fighting a fire and emergency evacuation arrangements.
Module 2 – Functions of a fire warden. This module covers the typical functions of a fire warden including assisting with fire risk assessments, carrying out fire safety inspections and helping with emergency evacuations. Learners follow the story of a fire warden as she reacts to hearing an alarm.
Learners must pass a short multiple-choice assessment to complete the course.
